What does a tree, a bathtub and the president's bunker all have in common? They are places of refuge. The leaves of a tree provide refuge from the blazing sun. A bathtub in an inner room can be a refuge from a tornado. And the president’s bunker is a refuge from a nuclear blast. A refuge is a place of safety and security.

In Psalm 7, David was being unfairly persecuted by his enemies. They pressed in around him so intensely that he feared for his life. Yet David did not retreat into fear. He did not trust in his sword, or his army. David’s refuge was found in the strong hands of God. He boldly asked God to intervene and deliver him.

What is your refuge? What do you turn to when your world turns upside down? Anything other than putting your trust in God will leave you vulnerable. Our God is always faithful and good. He is our REFUGE from whatever storm you are facing.
