When my oldest son was in Elementary School in Georgia, we came to Raleigh to visit my in-laws. I decided to take Caleb to see a Tar Heel basketball game. I knew that people would have tickets available outside the arena. We headed to the Dean Dome. Although we were excited, I was a little worried. I thought, “What if the tickets we buy outside are fake, we waste money and are not allowed entrance?” Thankfully the tickets were legit and we watched Carolina win.
If the tickets had been counterfeited, we would have been deeply disappointed. What if we had a counterfeit Jesus? If Jesus is not the Savior, we will all be disappointed. If Jesus did not arise, we are still guilty and accountable for our sin. Can you imagine closing your eyes on earth and opening them up in hell instead of heaven because no one ever made a way for our forgiveness…purchased our ticket to heaven?
The good news is that Jesus did die for our sins, was buried and ROSE AGAIN! Because He lives, we also live. Our sins are forgiven and our home is with Him. We can have complete confidence in who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Daily we can experience abundant life. And when we close our eyes upon this earth, we will open them in His presence where we will live eternally. We will win!
