What do you do when you need help? For a medical emergency, you dial 911. If you need wisdom for a task or project, you search the internet or YouTube. If you are sick, you go to the doctor. If you need directions, you consult Google Maps. But what if your need is spiritual? If you need direction for a next step? What if you need a fresh start in life. Or what if you desire a loved one to have a change of heart?
We can call upon God for any need that we may have. Psalm 5 reminds us that God is ready and willing to hear our prayer and answer us according to His will. His power is indescribable and His faithful love towards us is steadfast. We can confidently call upon our Father in prayer and trust that He will answer us.
David tells us that he prayed every morning. And after praying He watched and waited to see what God was going to do. Do you and I approach God with such confident expectancy? As John would tell us in his epistle, “And this is the confidence we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.” (1 John 5:14). Pray and watch to see what good the Lord will do concerning something that is heavy on your heart this week.
